| Meadowood Fire School May 17th & 18 2008 Ropes Rescue 16 Hour Join instructors from Fire Service Educators & The Fire Rescue Institute for a 16 hour Ropes Rescue Program at The Meadowood Fire School Saturday & Sunday September 22nd & 23rd Instructors Lt. Joe Frierre (Nashua Fire) & Rodney Towne (Nashua Fire Retired) will lead students in a intense 16 Hour Ropes Rescue program where students will: Day 1 - Students will review and tie all life safety knots, review and construct anchor systems, learn basic mechanic advantage systems and construct both z-systems and block and tackles, as well as set up repel and belay systems so students can preform pick offs from a training tower. Day 2 - Training will culminate with students preforming low angle rescues using stokes baskets and setting up mechanical advantage systems to lower a rescue team into place, secure a patient into a stokes and retrieve the rescue team. This is a very demanding program that will require good team work and communications. |
